Venture Homes Earth Friendly Standards

At Venture Homes, we see the value in Eco-friendly living.  That is why we go out of our way to protect the environment and give you an energy efficient, earth-friendly home.  Here are some of the standards that we hold when building a Venture Home.

Earth Friendly Standards

  1. We use aluminum wall pans (forms) to pour our basement walls.  They can be used on hundreds of homes while other parts of the country use plywood that can only be used once and then be thrown away.  After the aluminum pans wear out, the aluminum is recycled.
  2. Our energy efficient gas furnaces and water heaters discharge fewer pollutants per BTU thereby reducing the amount of greenhouse gases going into the environment.
  3. Our basement walls are insulated which means it takes less gas to heat the house which lessens the amount of greenhouse gases going into the environment.
  4. Our lumber supplier is L.E.E.D. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified.
  5. All roof, floor and wall sheathing comes from renewable forests where, for every tree cut, six trees are planted, for a total of 650 million trees per year being planted.
  6. Our plubming is Aquapex systems which are non-toxic, free of harmful lead, copper and other metals.
  7. We use Delta Faucets.  Delta recycles 80% of metals back into the market.
  8. By installing R-46 attic insulation, you stay warmer.  With less energy being used, this means less cost to you.
  9. The USG (United States Gypsum) sheetrock face and back paper is made from 100% recycled material from newspapers, phone books, and cardboard.
  10. USG (United States Gypsum) plants recycle waste back into the manufacturing process raising their overall plant efficiency to above 98%.
  11. Our Pittsburgh Pain products provide better indoor air quality with less emissions going into the environment by using organic compounds.
  12. Our luxury, hard-wearing and easy-to-clean carpet is made from recycled beverage containers.
  13. Our carpet pad is rebound which is made from recycled materials such as car seats and furniture cushions.
  14. Manington Flooring, our vinyl floor company, recycles more than they create, thereby saving the environment.
  15. Our Wilsonart custom counter tops have been awarded the Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certification from the Greenguard Environmental Institute.
  16. Our Aristocraft cabinets are MBCI Master Brand Cabinets, Inc., and are ESP certified Environmental Stewardship program.
  17. All additional wast materials from out job sites go to licensed landfills.
  18. We sod your entire lot where possible to help prevent erosion.
